At FOB Synthesis, our skilled and experienced team of chemists can provide custom syntheses of almost any organic compound. We offer preparation of intermediates, reference compounds, starting materials, and derivatives of lead compounds. All compounds produced in our facility are made to order in scales ranging from milligram to multi-gram quantities. And through our affiliation with ID Biochem, we can also provide multi-kilogram quantities of GLP and GMP materials.

All custom synthesis requests that we receive are reviewed and determined whether we wish to pursue the project. This process usually takes no longer than 48 hours. Once accepted, we will provide the customer with an estimate of cost and delivery time to complete the project. Because of unforeseen problems that sometimes occur with chemical synthesis, FOB Synthesis cannot guarantee that the product will be provided, but with a perfect success rate to date, it is very likely that we can. Of course, if the product is not obtained, the customer will not be charged. Once a project is underway, the client will be held responsible for all accrued expenses in the event that they wish to cancel a custom synthesis. In addition, if a client makes significant changes to a project after an agreement has been made, an adjustment in price and/or delivery time may result.

Custom Organic Synthesis

The customer shall provide us with known literature methods and/or their own existing synthetic route in which all experimental details (reaction times, temperatures, solvents and concentrations, work-up procedures, purification methods, yields, and analytical data) are described. The more information provided us, the shorter the turn around time and the lower the price of the project will be.

Contract Research / Synthetic Development

Contract research and synthetic development is performed when synthetic information is either limited or unavailable. If the customer requests that we determine the best route of synthesis, we will conduct a literature search of pertinent target compounds and known synthetic procedures. Some preliminary experimental work may also be performed to determine synthetic feasibility. If we mutually agree to pursue the project, a research agreement will be authored and signed by both parties. At that time, one or more chemists will be assigned to serve on that project full-time. Samples of intermediate compounds will be made available upon request at any stage of the synthesis in addition to all obtained analytical data. Progress of our work will be communicated to our clients at regular intervals, typically in written weekly or monthly reports. At that time, the client can decide weather to continue with a project.

As with our custom synthesis projects, FOB Synthesis cannot guarantee that our contract research will produce your desired products or results. Upon completion or termination of the project, we will provide a report within two weeks on the R&D conducted. This report will include literature search results as well as all developed experimental details (reaction conditions, methods for product isolation and purification, full compound characterization, etc.).
